Advanced Practice in Couples and Relationship Therapy - a 3-day workshop for experienced and qualified Psychotherapists with Carmen J. Ablack

Over these three days, Carmen Joanne Ablack will facilitate the group in understanding and applying advanced ways of being with and supporting couples/relationship clients. We will be diving deeper into relationship clinical working.  Building on interaction dynamics in various contexts and situations.   

There will be supervisory and group exploration of practical client work examples and facilitated role plays to explore specific issues that arise. 

By using creative methods such as drawing, vocalisation and movement in couples work we can expand our repertoire of work, in particular thinking about how to work with different client presentations, including intersectional considerations.

Participants should be prepared to explore their own subjective states in intimate/social friendships/ work relationships, as a way of developing better understanding of intersubjective processes arising in the therapy room / therapy work.

Some preparatory reading will be required. 

In both these workshops, we will pay attention to:

- respect for the dignity, autonomy and right to self-determination of clients
- promotion of the wellbeing of clients and acting in their best interests
- avoidance by the therapist of exploitation and abuse, and striving to do no harm
- commitment by the therapist to transparency, fairness and relational field understanding in all interactions

ABOUT LIDER:

Carmen Joanne Ablack is UKCP & EABP accredited, she is current President of the European Association for Body Psychotherapy. She teaches & supervises in the UK & Europe. Carmen is a senior faculty member at the Gestalt Centre in London. She works with groups, couples & other intimate relationships, individuals & organisations on equalities, diversity, inclusion, intersectionality, mental health areas & wellbeing. Her approach can broadly be described as embodied, relational and integrative. She has several articles and book chapters published on these and other themes.

Friday: 10 am.- 6 p.m.

Saturday: 10 am.- 6 p.m.

Sunday: 10 a.m. - 2 p.m

On Friday and Saturday will be 2h break for lunch

COSTS : 450 EUR

1st installment - 150 EUR - needs to be paid within 7 days from the moment of receiving confirmed registration email.

2nd repayment – 300 EUR needs to be paid till 01 March 2026.
